R610 and X170 series are new generations of marine diesel engines developed by Weichai in response to the market demand. Representing the internationally advanced design concept and a new achievement of Weichai's over fifty years experience in developing and producing engines, this series engine excel in such aspects as power coverage, economic performance, emission and quick start-up. It is widely applied to various ships.

With an optimized configuration of supercharger, high-pressure oil pump, oil injector, intake pipe, and combustion chamber, the new series excel themselves in power coverage, oil efficiency, emission, and quick start-up. Meanwhile, an improvement of engine block, cylinder liner, exhaust pipe and oil pan has further enhanced its reliability and performance and made it easier to operate and maintain.
X170ZC series marine diesel engines (including X6170ZC series, 8170ZC series) come from the former 170Z series. After a betterment of both design and quality, the new series consist of 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder engines.
